Have your say on vehicle related anti-social behaviour
Broadland District Council and South Norfolk Council are seeking views on proposals to extend their existing Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) for vehicle-related anti-social behaviour for a further three years.
The Orders help the Councils and Norfolk Constabulary tackle anti-social behaviour linked to vehicles, including excessive vehicle noise, street racing, dangerous driving, vehicle stunts and other activities that can negatively affect local communities.
Since the Orders were introduced, evidence has shown a reduction in complaints and a decrease in demand on Council and Police services. The Councils are now reviewing the Orders and would like to hear your views before deciding whether they should be extended.
What do the current Orders cover?
The current PSPOs include measures to address:
- Excessive revving of engines
- Loud or modified exhaust noise
- Street racing and car cruises
- Drifting, doughnuts and other stunt driving
- Excessive noise from vehicle stereos
- Other vehicle-related behaviour that causes nuisance, alarm or distress to others
