Community and Open Spaces Grant
The Community and Open Spaces Grant supports Town and Parish Councils and community organisations in delivering significant capital projects that provide lasting benefits for South Norfolk communities. Projects must have a minimum total value of £200,000 and align with the Council’s strategic priorities.
What can be funded?
Examples include (not an exhaustive list):
- Community facility improvements or new facilities
- Village halls
- Public realm enhancements
- Sports pitches
- Green infrastructure and community spaces
Who can apply?
Applications are welcome from Town and Parish Councils and eligible community groups that can demonstrate community need, project deliverability and appropriate land ownership or long-term lease arrangements.
Application process
The grant operates through a two-stage process:
- Expression of Interest.
- Full Business Case (by invitation only).
Support is available to applicants developing a full business case.
Before you apply
Projects should:
- Deliver clear community benefits
- Demonstrate local need and community support
- Be ready to start within 12 months of funding approval
- Include secured or proposed match funding
- Promote equality, inclusion and accessibility
