VE Day Grant
What is the VE Day Grant?
South Norfolk and Broadland Councils have established a new grant to support Town Councils, Parish Councils and community organisations across the districts to organise a commemorative event for the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) day on Thursday 8 May 2025. Events organised between 1 May and 15 May will also be accepted.
What will the VE Day Grant support?
The grant will be available to help towards the costs that may occur when organising VE Day events for the community. Town Councils, Parish Councils and community organisations are eligible to apply for the grant and must demonstrate that the funds are to support the provision of an event for residents.
Up to £300 of funding per parish is available to support commemorative community events or tributes that are community focussed, accessible and open to all within the community. This grant will not support or contribute to purchasing of beacons or similar.
Successful applicants will be required to provide a short event evaluation of the event with photographs after it has taken place for auditing and promotional purposes.
Who is eligible to apply for VE Day grant?
All Town Councils, Parish Councils and community organisations in South Norfolk and Broadland Districts are eligible to apply for the VE Day grant. A grant will be considered on receipt of a completed application form and proof of bank details.
Each council or organisation is only able to apply for one grant each and only one grant per parish will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
Do I need to licence my event?
