Planting Wilder Woodlands webinar

In November 2022 Broadland District Council and Norfolk Wildlife Trust held a webinar to support communities and individuals to think about the benefits to wildlife in their tree and hedge planting plans.

Planting a new woodland or hedgerow is a wonderful legacy for the future. Trees and woodlands are hugely beneficial by helping to fight climate change by storing carbon, good for our health and wellbeing but they are also home to a wealth of wildlife, supporting improving our local biodiversity. A few simple steps can be taken to make sure that new planting really does help wildlife.

During the webinar Helen Baczkowska from Norfolk Wildlife Trust provided information about how to encourage wildlife in planting plans in general and responded to questions from participants about their own plans and aspirations.

Councillors and Officers also provided information about Broadland tree planting grants available to communities and private landowners.
