Helping communities bloom

Local communities can now apply for grants of £300 to help beautify villages in Broadland and South Norfolk.
South Norfolk and Broadland District Councils’ Clean Up & Bloom grant can be used by Parish Councils to purchase flowers, shrubs, trees or pay for landscaping.
It can also be used to hold litter picks, in fact, anything that helps the district to ‘Clean Up & Bloom.’
The money could also help villages to compete in the prestigious Anglia in Bloom, which forms part of the RHS Britain in Bloom campaign.
South Norfolk Council’s Cabinet Member for Healthy and Active Lifestyles, Cllr Kim Carsok, said:
“The scheme is designed to help local community groups create colourful and welcoming spaces within their neighbourhood, that not only look lovely to both visitors and locals, but also support wellbeing and biodiversity.”
Broadland District Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing, Cllr Natasha Harpley said:
“We have so many gorgeous villages in Broadland and this is an opportunity to really maximise their potential. We want this grant to bring people together and create something beautiful that will foster a sense of community pride.”
The funding is available to all parish councils in the two districts and has been made available through the Councils’ Pride in Place scheme.
