Excellent rating for South Norfolk Council’s life-saving courses
South Norfolk Council’s leisure team have been awarded an Excellent rating by the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) for the training courses they offer at Wymondham Leisure Centre.
Following an external quality assurance audit, the leisure team met all the requirements of the RLSS. South Norfolk Council’s Cabinet Member, Cllr Kim Carsok, said:
“I’m incredibly proud of the team who have put in so much hard work to receive the highest possible rating from the RLSS. Our staff are highly qualified and are using their skills to train people from other organisations too.”
As an Approved Training Provider, the Council’s leisure team can continue to deliver Royal Life Saving Society qualifications including, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches, Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid, ongoing lifeguard training and qualification renewal courses. Cllr Carsok added:
“As well as these courses, our instructors also run our popular swim school and have taught thousands of people this valuable skill that could one day save their life.”
