Residents can now nominate their local heroes in South Norfolk Council’s Community Awards.

Residents can now nominate their local heroes in South Norfolk Council’s Community Awards.

The Awards, sponsored by Clarion Futures, celebrate all the dedicated hard-working volunteers that give up their time to help make South Norfolk a fantastic place to live, work and visit.

At the launch held at, Glen Lodge, Bawburgh, South Norfolk Council’s Chairman, Councillor James Easter, said: “We have some amazing residents, businesses and community groups in South Norfolk who are inspirational in their efforts to go above and beyond for their community. If you know someone like this, who goes the extra mile, then nominate now and let them know how much you appreciate their hard work.”

Yvonne Ogden, Neighbourhood Investment Manager at Clarion Futures said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Community Awards that celebrate the contributions and achievements of individuals, businesses and community groups across South Norfolk. Community spirit and support is so important, especially as the cost of living continues to bite, and it’s great to see local residents being recognised for the difference they are making.”

The eight award categories are:

  • Inspiration of the year
  • Young Person of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Helping Hand Award
  • Green at Heart Award
  • Business Community Advocate Award
  • Community Group of the Year
  • Community Hero


Nominations close 3 May. All shortlisted nominees will be invited to a special awards night held on 30 June at Glen Lodge, Bawburgh.
Winners will receive grants of £250 to give to their chosen charitable organisation.
