Broadland: Nominate exceptional design in Broadland

Modern wooden cladded building

Nominations for Broadland District Council’s Enhancement Awards are now open.

The awards celebrate and promote the unique character of the district’s built environment and highlight projects that have improved existing buildings or brought a building back to life.

Broadland District Cllr Karen Vincent, Chair of the Awards Panel, said:

“Our awards aim to raise design standards and enhance our built environment. If you know of a building that has been beautifully restored, converted or extended, then we would love to hear from you.”

Projects must enhance the local area and the work should respect the character, scale and design, or represent a considerable improvement to the original building.

Previous winners include contemporary but sympathetic extensions to houses and also projects to bring historic buildings or places back into use.

Last year’s award was won by the Community Garden and Café at Little Plumstead where the historic walled garden area was brought back into use and the Victorian wall repaired.

Judging will take place in September and winners will be invited to the Community at Heart Awards to collect their award.

To enter, please submit eight photographs of the project and a short statement (no more than 100 words) as to why you consider it should get the award.

Please send your nominations to chris.bennett@southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk. The deadline for nominations is Monday 15 August.

If you have any queries regarding your entry please contact Chris Bennett on 01508 533828.
