Broadland District and South Norfolk Councils are celebrating after being shortlisted for two national awards.

The Councils have been shortlisted in the prestigious, national MJ Awards in the category of Care and Health Integration and Community Champions.

The Councils’ Help Hub has been recognising for its work to help residents during the pandemic, and the bin crews have been hailed as community champions.

Managing Director, Trevor Holden said.

"The recognition of our work through the Help Hub, and especially the District Direct and Social Prescribing initiatives, shows our determination to make sure that no one gets left behind. The Help Hub offers a single point of access to 15 public and private sector agencies, all working in partnership to provide the help that our residents need, at the time they need it.

"Our bin crews have been recognised as the real champions they are. Throughout the lockdowns they continued to work and didn’t miss a single round. They were an important link between our residents and the Council and they all deserve this accolade."

The awards, run by the Municipal Journal, are the biggest and most prestigious awards for the local government sector and recognise the best of local government innovation and service delivery.
