South Norfolk: Last call for shop front funding
South Norfolk Council is giving local businesses the chance to revamp their shop fronts in a bid to further enhance the street scene and help businesses attract more customers.
Over 50 businesses have applied so far, including Huggers, a brand-new vegan café in Long Stratton, set to open this Friday (17 December).
Owner Lisa Dunn said:
“The grant was incredibly helpful as it meant we were able to restore the beautiful old windows that were black and rotten and give the front of the cafe a fresh new coat of paint. It now looks really inviting and we can’t wait to open and welcome customers.”
Up to £2,000 is available to qualifying businesses, including cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants.
South Norfolk Cabinet Member for Stronger Economy, Councillor Lisa Neal, said:
“We appreciate that it may have been difficult for businesses to keep their frontages looking good during lockdown, and they may not currently have the resources to spend on adding that special kerb appeal. This grant will help businesses attract new customers and keep our much-loved market towns and shops looking vibrant and welcoming.”
