Apprentice evening success for local councils

Elevate your future with an exciting apprenticeship

Over 30 people joined two local councils last week at an online apprenticeship event designed to attract new talent to the organisation.

Attendees met with MD Trevor Holden to find out more about the range of benefits of working for the Councils and all the opportunities available.

Trevor said:

“We were delighted to be joined by so many people who were keen to get a foot on the career ladder.

“We offer fantastic opportunities for anyone looking to start a new career. Currently we have apprentices working in a range of areas, from leisure and finance to grounds maintenance.

“They add enormous value to our workforce, increasing productivity, plugging skills gaps and can be trained for specialist niche roles, that are difficult to recruit for.”

The councils had several apprenticeship roles available, with attendees encouraged to meet staff and find out more about the roles on the evening.

It was so successful that the councils are now currently in the process of appointing for all of the positions, including Finance, PR and HR apprentices, with interviews for an IT apprentice and post grad Planning Officer taking place this week.

A further four apprenticeships will be available later in the year.

The Councils offer excellent benefits for apprentices including the national living wage salary (starting at £17,142) plus fully funded learning, 25 days holidays, flexible working hours, Local Government Pension Scheme and employee discounts.
