Forget-Me-Not grant

The Forget-Me-Not grant is up to £500 to help people living with dementia. It aims to pay for small adaptations or equipment to make each environment more dementia friendly.

In the early stages of living with dementia, many people are safe to stay in their own homes. However, their home might need to be adapted to help them stay safe and mobile. They might find it harder to look after their home and need help with their daily lives in new ways.

Grants could be used to:

  • change lighting, flooring and decoration
  • change bathroom and kitchen areas, such as water level sensors and safety cut-outs
  • install tools including clocks, pill dispensers, notice boards and signs on doors
  • other work which can improve independence around the home

Making these small changes means people can usually stay in their own homes for longer doing the things they enjoy. It can help to reduce or delay the need for residential care or hospital care.

When you apply, we will ask you to briefly explain your situation and why works are needed.

By applying for this grant you will be giving your permission for any potential works to be carried out. In rented accommodation, we will require the landlord's permission for some types of adaptations.
