Community Awards 2022
The winners of this year's awards are:
Inspiration of the Year
Someone who strives to achieve their best at work, in their studies, in sports or the arts, or in the community.
Robin Twigge
Robin and The Swan Hotel are at the centre of the Harleston community. Regardless of the cause, he, his partner Vicki and his team are always there. His infectious enthusiasm and dynamic approach, results in positive outcomes.
Young Hero Award
A young person who has made a remarkable and inspiring achievements in support of their community (Aged 18 and under)
Harmony Wilders
Harmony’s a school leader and has been supporting other young people in the school making them feel at ease, particularly the new year 7s, she’s also Young Commissioner on the South Norfolk Youth Advisory Board.
Helping Hand Award
A friend, neighbour or carer who always goes the extra mile to help or support others.

Leah Ardley-Forder
As a volunteer for PSS Shared Lives Norfolk, Leah finds new carers in the district. She always goes the extra mile and even did a virtual interview with a new carer whilst on holiday.
Business in the Community Award
A local business that has led or supported community initiatives and values.

Rosedale Funeral Home
Rosedale understand how bereavement can affect a person often causing isolation and loneliness, the team have gone above and beyond, providing ongoing free bereavement support for people who have used their services.
Green at Heart Award
A community group that has made a significant contribution to the residents of their local area.

Henry Gowman
Chair of the South Norfolk Tree Wardens Network for seven years and Tree Warden for Poringland, Henry has been instrumental in getting some 30,000 trees planted. Henry also chairs Poringland and District Men’s Shed.
Community Group of the Year
A community group that has made a significant contribution to the residents of their local area.
ChetChat
ChetChat helps to tackle loneliness in the community by offering help to the over 60s. They do everything from picking up prescriptions to shopping, gardening and helping with transport.
Volunteer of the Year
An individual who has volunteered their time to make an outstanding contribution to their community.
Linda Buck
Linda, alongside fellow volunteers, has worked tirelessly to re-open and grow the MS Society Norwich and District Group. She helps run a range of activities as well as providing information and support to those with MS.
Special Recognition and Community Hero Awards
A community group that has made a significant contribution to the residents of their local area.
Lou Hines
Lou was bereaved of her son through suicide and has turned this experience into an incredible driving force to save others. Through her incredible efforts, a support group was created for young people battling mental health difficulties that has now been running for almost 5 years and helped over 150 youngsters.
The award was collected on her behalf by her children.
The winner in each category received £250 to give to their chosen community group or voluntary organisation.
