Total number of staff who are Union Representatives: 10 (8.5 FTE) April 2021 to March 2022. 8 (7.5 FTE) (as of August 2022):

  • trade unions represented: UNISON for full consultation purposes and ALACE  
  • percentage of pay bill spent on facility time: 2.33%
  • the percentage of pay bill spent on facility time is calculated by taking the hourly rate of UNION Represnetatives then time spent on Union duties, multiplying these and adding in the salary of the union representative on full union release (as of 1st July 2021). This equates to an estimated £44,544.19 annual costing

The UNISON branches for Broadland and South Norfolk joined on the 1 January 2019 to become the Yare Valley branch. 

One Union Representative (1 FTE) was previously on full Union release, which began 1 July 2021, with the role being 100% Organisation funded, this is reflected in the above figures as falls within the reporting date.

During the financial year a significant amount of time was spent negotiating on a local pay deal with the organisation, in addition to business as usual activities such as:  agreeing revised terms and conditions to create a full one team structure to support the two councils, consultation on evaluating job roles within the organisation and consultation and sign off or key organisational policies for the two councils.
