A holiday play scheme run by South Norfolk Council at Long Stratton Leisure Centre has passed its recent Ofsted inspection with flying colours.

Kids Camp has been registered with Ofsted since 2008 and is open Monday to Friday during school holidays for children aged between five and fifteen. The scheme offers a range of activities including the exclusive use of Bananas Soft Play, football, arts and crafts and can be booked as either full or half day sessions. South Norfolk Council Cabinet Member, Cllr Kim Carsok, said:

“Our Long Stratton Kids Camp has up to 40 children a day during the school holidays and the team work hard to ensure that there are plenty of activities available to keep them busy and entertained. This result is a great reward for their efforts and I am delighted that the high standards they strive to achieve have been recognised.”

The Council put the popularity of Kids Camp down to their enthusiastic and imaginative staff who each holiday create a varied and exciting programme of activities. Over the years this has included everything from magic shows to mad scientists and roller discos. With something different every day, youngsters never get bored! The Council also offer Kids Camp at Wymondham Leisure Centre where, in addition to the usual activities, children can also enjoy fun sessions in the pool. Councillor Carsok added:

“We realise how important it is to keep kids active during the holidays and the importance of learning through play. Being Ofsted Compliant is a real achievement for the whole team and it means that parents can use childcare vouchers to pay for the sessions."
