Communities and Place

Our Pride in Place Relationship Manager and team work closely with town and parish councils to identify local opportunities to add value and enhance where people live, leading to a sense of pride. To support this workstream the council have created a ‘Pride in Place Community Grant’ to provide local towns and parish councils, charitable and voluntary organisations with the opportunity to bid for grants to:

  • support the development of new or existing community facilities
  • improve community engagement and understand local needs to develop appropriate community facilities

To speed up improvements in towns and parishes, South Norfolk Council has established a Community Infrastructure Programme. This means towns and parishes, who will soon have access to a Community Infrastructure Levy, can complete community projects without the need to wait for developers to pay this levy. As part of the Pride in Place programme, foreword funding will be available to provide Town and Parish Councils with the opportunity to develop key pieces of infrastructure within their area.
