South Norfolk Council hackney carriage and private hire licence

If you wish to change the current vehicle registration number of your hackney carriage or private hire vehicle you must notify the licensing team for the vehicle licence and internal and external plates to be updated and issued. 

You must supply the following documents:

• the log book V5C (vehicle registration document) - this must be the original document and in your full name and current address, showing the new vehicle registration number
• retention documents
• insurance certificate or cover note for the new vehicle registration number demonstrating the vehicle is insured for hackney carriage and/or private hire purposes

Following a request to change the vehicle registration please allow up to 10 clear working days for the licence to be issued.  You will be required to collect the licence plates from the council office in person or send a representative.  ID is required before the items are issued.  (Please note if you are sending a representative you will need to provide us with their name beforehand).

Fees

£15 includes replacement paper licence, internal and rear plates.
