Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner candidates announced

The candidates contesting this year's Police and Crime Commissioner election for Norfolk have been unveiled.

The candidates are:

  • John Peter Crofts – Liberal Democrat
  • Giles Rackley Orpen-Smellie – Conservative Party
  • Martin Kenneth Albert Schmierer – The Green Party
  • Sarah Taylor –  Labour and Co-operative Party

Nominations closed at 4pm on Friday 5 April 2024.

The PCC election takes place on Thursday, 2 May. The votes are counted on Friday, 3 May, and declared on the same day.

In order to vote in these important elections, residents must be on the electoral register.

It is a requirement at these elections for all voters attending polling stations to take with them one form of photo ID, such as a driving licence, passport or bus pass. There is a Voter Authority Certificate available, free of charge, for those who don’t have any of the prescribed types of ID.

It is important to check now if you have one of the accepted types of ID and, if not, to apply now for a Voter Authority Certificate for free.
