Candidates for Police and Crime Commissioner announced

Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner candidates have been published. The five candidates contesting this year's Police and Crime Commissioner election for Norfolk have been unveiled.

The candidates are:

  • John Peter Crofts - Liberal Democrat
  • David John Moreland - Independent
  • Giles Rackley Orpen-Smellie - Conservative Party
  • Michael Rosen - Labour and Co-operative Party
  • Martin Kenneth Albert Schmierer - Green Party

Nominations closed at 4pm yesterday (Thursday) and have been published this morning, Friday 9 April.

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) election takes place on Thursday 6 May, with the votes being counted on Saturday 8 May and declared on the same day.

In order to vote in these important elections, residents must be on the electoral register.

The deadline to register to vote is midnight on Monday 19 April. It takes just five minutes and can be done online at GOV.UK

The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on 20 April. Application forms can be downloaded from the GOV.UK website but must be completed and signed.

The deadline for a proxy vote the deadline is 5pm on 27 April.
