Council services go on the road

Help Hub van

Broadland District and South Norfolk Councils are bringing their much-valued services into the community with the launch of their new Help Hub van.

From March, the van will be stationed at various locations across the districts, where services are most requested, offering frontline support. No appointment is needed and residents are invited to drop in anytime between 10am to 4pm.

Broadland District Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing, Cllr Natasha Harpley, said:

“Our residents’ wellbeing is our top priority. The van means we can get to the heart of our communities and speak to people who can benefit most from our Help Hub services. Our team can advise with all sorts of issues, from help with benefits, to debt welfare advice, isolation, anti-social behaviour and domestic abuse.”

South Norfolk Council's Cabinet Member for Supporting People, Cllr Graham Minshull, said:

“This is about actively looking for opportunities to improve people’s quality of life, rather than waiting for people to come to us. It’s hard to seek help when you need it, much easier to carry on until it gets to a crisis, but if help is right there on the doorstep, then it’s hard to ignore.”

The Help Hub offers support with a range of issues, such as Council Tax, debt advice housing, small home adaptions, employment and training, wellbeing and health, relationships and domestic abuse, benefits and isolation.

Residents will be able to visit the van at the following locations:
