Grants to help following storm Babet

Flood

Following storm Babet, and the disruption and damage caused in both South Norfolk and Broadland by flooding, the Government has allocated funding to help residents and businesses recover.

This funding is specifically designed to provide essential financial assistance to those who have suffered serious flooding damage to help them get back on their feet.

South Norfolk Council Cabinet member, Graham Minshull said:

"We understand the impact that Storm Babet continues to have on our residents and local businesses. The funding secured from central Government is a vital step towards alleviating the immediate financial concerns faced by our residents and helping towards their recovery."

The new support schemes include the Community Recovery Grant, allowing flooded households to access up to £500 in immediate financial aid.

Additionally, households and businesses significantly impacted by the floods will benefit from 100% Council Tax and business rates relief for a minimum of three months.

Small to medium-sized businesses who have suffered can also apply for the Business Recovery Grant, offering support of up to £2,500. This grant is designed to enable a prompt return to normal business operations and help in overcoming the challenges posed by the storm.
