The Broadland Food Innovation Centre (BFIC), near Honingham has welcomed three new food businesses as tenants, adding to the rich mix of food and drink businesses already based at the centre.

Broadland District Council Cabinet member Martin Booth said:

“I am really pleased to see so many new businesses deciding to take the next step in their development by joining us at the Broadland Food innovation Centre. The BFIC is a custom built centre of excellence where food companies can share their experiences and expertise. This is an exciting time for us all and I look forward to welcoming our new tenants and even more businesses in the new year.”

Club Cultured embodies the idea of innovation, producing tempeh and other fermented food products including kimchi. Both delicious and planet-friendly, their products are rich in fermented cultures contributing to microbiome health. Inspired by the tempeh they tasted while travelling, and the opportunity to mix in Michelin-star training gained at the Ritz, three friends James, Harry and Connor launched Club Cultured in London in 2018 to great success. Moving into the Centre is the next big step in the growth of their business. Another new tenant is Coastal Health, specialists in the contract manufacturing of quality food supplements for trade and healthcare professionals. This involves formulating, sourcing and ultimately encapsulating and packaging the food supplements following rigorous quality checks.

Troy Linton, Founder and Managing Director of Coastal Health, said:

“I absolutely loved Broadland Food Innovation Centre and its amazing purpose-built units at first sight. Being part of the culture at the BFIC is a crucial step in our journey to become the leader in contract manufacturing of food supplements in the UK.”

The Olarossi Group has also received the keys to their unit and the move to the BFIC is a key part of their growth strategy for doubling capacity. Established in 2011, their catering division is renowned for providing exclusive catering services to a growing number of award-winning luxury wedding venues in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Keith McDowell said:

“The decision to relocate our operations to the Centre is grounded in the rapid and sustained growth of our business. A central processing unit like this offers comprehensive capabilities for increased capacity, efficiency improvements and scalability. It also offers enhanced quality control, an improved infrastructure, and an optimised workflow. We are enthusiastic about collaborating closely with the Centre and leveraging the wealth of experience and knowledge provided by the team."
