South Norfolk and Broadland District Councils are urging people to get in touch with their Help Hubs if they need extra support this Christmas.

Broadland District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing and Wellbeing, Councillor Fran Whymark, said:

“Christmas can be a time when people may need a bit of extra help or support. Domestic abuse, loneliness and debt are all problems that can be exacerbated at this time of year. But you don’t have to suffer in silence, our Help Hub and our Community Connectors are here for you and can get you the support you need.”

South Norfolk Council’s Cabinet Member for Better Lives, Councillor Alison Thomas, said:

“Our Community Connectors will be out and about across the district this festive season. They are members of the local community who can help our residents and their families access local support services. They can also introduce residents to activities and support groups in the local area and make sure that they get the help they need at the time they need it. So if you’re struggling this Christmas, please get in touch.”

The Help Hub can support residents with a range of issues, including housing, small home adaptions, employment and training, wellbeing and health, relationships and domestic abuse, benefits and money worries, isolation, and support with the effects of Covid.

Councillor Thomas added:

“If you are worried about any aspect of your own or your family’s wellbeing contact the Help Hub where you will be helped to find the support you need.”
