Kickstart roles within Broadland District and South Norfolk Councils

One of the most economically hardest hit groups, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, is the young. That is why both Broadland District and South Norfolk Councils are taking part in Kickstart, the scheme announce by the government last year to support 16 to 24 year olds who are not in employment or education.

If you are unemployed, aged between 16 and 24 and claiming universal credit, you can apply for a six-month job placement through your local Job Centre Plus. The Councils have created 11 job placements across the business. The roles are diverse and range from HR Data Analyst to Trainee Project Assistant. Housing Standards Administrator

  • provide advice and assistance for telephone enquiries relating to housing standard
  • preparation of case files and scanning of paperwork
  • general administration and customer engagement

Communities Support Assistant

  • provide general administration support including taking notes and minutes
  • take telephone calls from the public and work colleagues
  • organise information and collect data on different projects

Creative Design Assistant

  • support with the production of creative campaigns and work with project managers on design ideas
  • support the development of creative design ideas and solutions using digital media, outdoor media, video, signage and adverts
  • edit, amend and update existing designs using relevant artwork and up to date marketing information

Help Hub Support

  • check IT systems for new customer contacts in relation to COVID-19
  • check other lines of communication for new customer enquiries on other topics
  • provide administrative support for the team
  • answer calls and put through to the appropriate team member
  • speak to customers and community groups to update records

Housing and Benefit Customer Advisor

  • provide information to customers
  • put customer data onto the system
  • support customers to use services
  • meet and greet visitors and make them feel welcome
  • provide a good customer experience

HR Assistant

  • provide administrative support to the HR service
  • support recruitment campaigns e.g. placing advertisements, assisting with interviews
  • support team colleagues and managers
  • make sure documents, records and general office administration are filed securely
  • respond to enquiries from the public, employees and suppliers
  • assist with the organising of employee documents
  • support payroll for the accuracy of payment

Junior Media and Sponsorship Sales Executive

  • secure advertising and sponsorship revenue
  • make calls to customers for advertising artwork and sponsorship logos
  • manage the accounts so income and sales targets are met
  • provide administrative support for raising invoices

Marketing and Communications Assistant

  • support the creation of marketing campaigns
  • shoot photos and videos
  • upload content to websites
  • support the delivery of marketing and communications plans
  • provide administrative support

Trainee Project Assistant

  • collect information from applications for central heating grants
  • file the data and information
  • evaluate information from case files
  • provide administrative support - general filing, answering telephone calls and emails
  • support Project Coordinator with day to day tasks
