South Norfolk Council’s Leisure Centres are now open and are welcoming customers back.

All the council's gyms, plus their swimming pools at Diss and Wymondham Leisure Centre opened today. Their 3G pitches, tennis courts and outdoor classes are also available for customers to book.

This is the latest phase of a staggered reopening of the Council’s facilities at Long Stratton, Diss and Wymondham Leisure Centre, Framingham Earl Sports Centre and Kett’s Park.

Leisure Operations Manager Daniel Infanti said:

“It’s fantastic to finally be opening up the centres again and welcoming our members back. Over the next couple of months, we will gradually be reopening all of our facilities when it is deemed safe to do so.”

From 17 May, indoor classes, such as HIIT, Yoga, and Pilates will be back on offer and children will once again be able to have fun in the Bananas soft play.

On 21 June, the Council plans to reopen all their facilities.

Manager Daniel Infanti said:

“We will still be operating in a Covid-secure way to keep our residents and members safe, so for example, you may have to book certain things online before using our facilities and maintain social distancing, but all being well, we will be offering our full range of facilities again on 21 June and we are extremely excited to be opening our doors again.”
