Nick - Centre Manager

What is your favourite thing about your job?

My favourite thing about my job is the variation. No two days are the same. I am lucky to be working with a great team here at Wymondham Leisure Centre who are working hard toward achieving their goals. 

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

I have worked in Leisure for 25 years in may different centres across the country and for many different Leisure providers. I started my career as a Lifeguard at 16 years old and have never looked back.

Caitlin - Assistant Centre Manager

What is your favourite thing about your job?

I love the variety of my role, every day is different. Sometimes I go from teaching Water Aerobics, to working on reception, to managing my team. There is never a dull moment.

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

Having worked in the leisure industry for many years, I have worked from a Lifeguard up to Assistant Centre Manager, gaining a variety of qualifications from Swim Teacher to personal training. I most recently completed my RLSS Trainer Assessor course.

My role is to assist the Centre Manager in the day to day running of the building and motivate the team.

Emily - Assistant Centre Manager

What is your favourite thing about your job?

My favourite aspect of the job role is being the support for the team and leading them to success. I am always available to offer advice and inspire them to reach their personal and professional goals.

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

I have worked in Leisure for 7 years, starting off as a Lifeguard, progressing to a Team Leader and Assistant Manager in the leisure and hospitality sector. I joined South Norfolk Leisure in October 2021 and I am enjoying a new aspect to the everchanging leisure industry. Along the way, I have gained qualifications such as NPLQ, Emergency First Aid, Pool Plant operators and a Trainer Assessor.

Hannah - Assistant Centre Manager

What is your favourite thing about your job?

Working with a passionate team and being able to watch them develop professionally within the industry.

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

I have worked in the Leisure industry for 8 years and have had the privilege of working at Diss, Long Stratton and Wymondham Leisure Centres. Within this time, I have gained an NPLQ, Gym Instructors Level 2 and PPO which has allowed me to progress to Assistant Centre Manager.

Mia - Team Leader

What is your favourite thing about your job?

I enjoy the social aspect of my job and being a role model for my team of lovely Lifeguards. I also enjoy interacting with the customers throughout the day.

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

I have been a Lifeguard for four years and I joined South Norfolk Leisure in December 2021. I have an NPLQ, First Aid at Work and a Pool Plant qualification. My day-to-day role is to manage the daily operations of the swimming pool and supporting the team.

Danny - Team Leader

What is your favourite thing about your job?

The thing I most enjoy about the leisure centre is dealing with members of the public face to face. Being able assist in meeting their required demands when using the facilities. However, building a good rapport and understanding of their individual characteristics and personalities in the meantime. This then enables us as a team to make their visit to the leisure centre that more comfortable.

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

I joined the leisure centre last year and my current qualifications include an NPLQ, National Pool Supervisors Qualification, First Aid at Work, Pool Plant Operators Qualification. I also graduated university with a BSc (Hons) Degree in; Health, Fitness & Strength and Conditioning so I’m hoping to pursue getting my gym qualifications in the near future.

Carrie - Fitness Advisor

What is your favourite thing about your job?

I am a people person and love getting to know members. I love supporting and helping people of all ages and abilities to reach their goals and improve both their physical and mental wellbeing, whether it's by doing something they didn't think they could do or by watching people grow in confidence. 

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

I have worked at Wymondham Leisure Centre as a Fitness Advisor and Class Instructor for over five years. I have a Level 2 in Exercise to Music. I am also a Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer and a Pre and Post Natal instructor.

Shahan - Fitness Advisor

What is your favourite thing about your job?

My favourite thing about my job is the opportunity to work alongside my colleagues. They are always super motivated and inspire me daily, which helps me to inspire our customers with their personal goals. I am very passionate about health and fitness and having an active lifestyle, so it is amazing that I work in an environment where I get to help and share my knowledge and support. 

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

I have obtained both Level 2 and 3 in Personal Training which has enhanced my skills to lead the sessions at Wymondham Leisure Centre and advise clients. I regularly cycle with Pedal Revolution and have done a fundraising bike ride for Cancer UK. I regularly go to the gym and help train friends, and I also train at ICON Martial Arts Club in Norwich. 

I am a Voluntary Assistant Mixed Martial Arts Instructor at New Routes Integration charity where I help to run MMA Club for recently settled ethnic minorities. In this role, I am always reliable, trustworthy, and friendly. I see each young person as an individual with hopes, dreams, strengths, and vulnerabilities. In my lessons, I always attempt to create a good atmosphere, promoting respect for one another that every individual feels safe enough to share their thoughts and feelings.

As a Fitness Advisor, I work in the fitness suite at Wymondham Leisure Centre providing gym inductions and programmes for new members. I also instruct some of the group classes, which I always receive really good feedback on. I am always available to offer advice and assistance where I can and I continue to learn and grow as an individual and as a professional.

Qualifications include:

·       Level 2+3 Diploma In Gym Instructing And Personal Training.

·       Level 2 Award In Instructing Studio Cycling

·       BTEC Level 3 Sport (Outdoor Adventure) Diploma.

·       Boxercise course

What is your favourite thing about your job?

My favourite aspect to the role is being able to work with a great team of lifeguards who are all very nice and friendly. I also enjoy the opportunity to interact with the public/customers.

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

I joined the centre this year and my current qualifications include NPLQ, First Aid at Work and Level 2 Swim Teacher. My role is to supervise the pool and swimmers, and ensure the centre is clean and tidy for our customers.

What is your favourite thing about your job?

My favourite thing about my job is interacting with customers and welcoming them into a positive environment.

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

I am due to complete a First Aid at Work course soon and look for opportunities to undertake further training.

Sara - Customer Service Advisor

What is your favourite thing about your job?

Meeting people, new daily challenges and working with a great team.

What are your qualifications/experience and role within the centre?

I have done many roles within the centre working in the creche, Kids Camp, café and currently part time with the reception team.

My role includes answering the telephone, taking bookings, and generally looking after the customer’s needs.
