Sports Champion Grants
The Sports Champion Grant supports Broadland and South Norfolk athletes who are performing at a high standard. Training and competing at this level takes time, money and commitment. The grant recognises this and offers help towards some of these costs.
Aspiring sports stars from Broadland and South Norfolk who represent their sport at regional level or above can now apply for a Sports Champion Grant to support them with outgoing costs for things such as coaching costs, training, physiotherapy, equipment or competing.
The grants of up to £300 are given on a one-off basis. To be eligible, applicants must live in Broadland or South Norfolk and be competing in a discipline recognised by Sport England. Athletes who have received a grant from this scheme in the last 2 years cannot apply*.
Previous recipients include Mia Bailey, who qualified for the England Indoor Athletics Championships, competing in the hurdles, and was awarded the CONAC Under 15 Track Athlete of the Year and Iona Lake, whose grant in 2018 enabled her to compete for England at the Commonwealth Games in Australia when she finished 8th in the 3,000m steeplechase.
