Independent Living Grant Adaptation

Local contractors required to support with independent living facilities

Local Contractors required for Independent Living Grant Adaptation work

Broadland District Council and South Norfolk Council work as one team to deliver home adaptions in our residents' properties. We would like to hear from contractors based in the local area who can provide building works as part of a grant process to facilitate independent living. The scheme provides an excellent opportunity for contractors to develop their business with a guaranteed flow of work, agreed prices, and timescales for payment.

Contractors will be required to complete a pricing schedule form including the costing of various standard works involved in the process. Typical work includes bathroom and kitchen adaptations, access ramps, paths and steps, widening doorways, installation of rails/grabrails and extensions etc. Average unit costs for works will then be calculated from all pricing documents received and contractors will be invited to agree to a universal schedule rate. The objective of the Councils is to align and update procedures and provide participating contractors with regular work on a rotational basis across the two districts.

Quality assurance procedures will be initiated via a reference procedure and successful contractors who join the agreed price schedule procedure will be assigned to carry out grant assisted works.

The procedure will be included in an 'Agreement Document' to provide this service for an initial period of three years subject to a review after 18 months. The Councils encourage open and collaborative dialogue between parties. Consultations, case discussions and reviews will be welcomed as part of the process.

Interested contractors must complete and return schedule pricing documents by 12 noon on Monday 1 November 2021.
