Tots2Teens COVID-19 guidelines

Registration and pick up

  • Parents/guardians may bring their child/ren into the venue to drop them off/collect them and complete any necessary paperwork. Face coverings are optional.
  • Hand sanitiser will be available when signing in and out. If you prefer, please bring your own pen.

Personal protective equipment

  • Hand sanitiser will be available for children to use throughout the venue and they will be encouraged to wash their hands frequently.
  • Child friendly hand washing posters will be displayed at a suitable height at sessions.
  • Face coverings are optional.

Activities

  • There is no requirement for children to adhere to social distancing.
  • Toys and shared equipment will be cleaned at regular intervals throughout the session.
  • Staff will clean touch points on outdoor play equipment before children use it, and all staff and children will wash their hands once they have finished playing on it.
  • High contact points (door handles, taps, table tops etc.) at the venue will be cleaned at regular intervals with antibacterial spray.

Ventilation

  • Windows will be opened at times at the activity venue for ventilation purposes.
  • Doors will not be left open unless they lead to a secure outdoor area as this could present a safeguarding risk.
  • Due to the time of year, staff will ensure that heating at the venue is used if the fresh air causes the venue to be too cold.
  • We recommend children bring along clothing layers to the session.

Symptomatic person

  • Children will not be able to attend the session if they or anyone in their household have COVID symptoms (high temperature, a new continuous cough, a loss or change to sense of smell or taste) have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days or are awaiting the test result.
  • Anyone who develops COVID-19 symptoms at a session will be isolated until they could leave the session and the venue would be closed early for deep clean.
  • In this situation, staff will wear full PPE and children will be kept away from the symptomatic person. The area will be cleaned. The parent/guardian of the symptomatic person (if a child) will be contacted and asked to collect them.
  • If this is a staff member, they will go home once suitable cover has been arranged.
  • A suitable room will be identified for the symptomatic person to wait in that is large enough to keep a 2 metre distance between the symptomatic person and supervising person.
