COVID-19 business support grants
We have various support grants available if your business has been affected by COVID-19, you can find the details of our grants below. You may also find it helpful to visit the government’s coronavirus business support finder.
Fixed Costs Support Grant (Additional Restrictions Grant phase three)
This grant is being provided by Broadland District and South Norfolk Councils from government Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) funding. This scheme will provide financial support towards qualifying fixed costs that your business will incur between April and June 2021, and not towards trading losses incurred.
The Fixed Costs Support Grant (FCSG) will provide support based on the current circumstances to qualifying businesses, to help them through the governments' roadmap out of lockdown. Support is not available to all businesses as funding is limited. Instead we aim to support those business sectors that remain most affected by ongoing restrictions.
Businesses that operate within events, conferences, weddings, live entertainment, group travel and holidays and those most dependent on those sectors for their turnover will principally be supported.
For the purposes of this scheme we are unable to consider applications from retail, self-contained holiday accommodation, takeaways, those that operate within the personal care sector, and any other businesses that were are to reopen to indoor trade from 12 April 2021.
Value and payment of grant awards
The value of each grant will be determined by the level of fixed quarterly costs of the business, in order to provide some support to help the business through this period. Award levels will be not more than two-thirds of the quarterly fixed costs of the business as recorded by the information gathered and evidenced upon the completion of the application form provided. For example, if your evidenced fixed costs for this period are £1,000 you will receive a grant of £660 or £500 if you’ve already received a Restart Grant.
Available funding means the FCSG will operate as a one-off grant award. It is not currently anticipated that any further discretionary grants will follow this scheme or be available as an alternative.
Restart Grants are available to customer facing non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care or gym businesses to allow them to open safely as the lockdown restrictions ease.
Businesses will qualify for grants if all of the below points apply:
- your premises are subject to their own business rates assessment (whether the ratepayer is in receipt of rate reliefs/discounts or not)
- those premises were required to close by law under national lockdown restrictions
- you were the ratepayer on 1 April 2021
The value of the grant award is based on the rateable value of the premises that you occupy.
If you wish to claim a Restart Grant, you will need to make an application.
